Andy Cole, a resident of Honolulu, is one of the premier woodturners in Hawaii and is past president of the Honolulu Woodturners. Andy is an expert at coring multiple bowls from a single piece of wood using the Kel McNaughton system. He normally produces natural edge bowls in which the bark edge is maintained. This difficult technique was demonstrated using Formosan Koa to produce the three bowl set shown, as well as set of milo bowls. Robin Clark was fortunate enough to obtain the fantastic seven piece Cuban Mahogany set that Andy just happened to bring to the demo as an example of his work. This set has been featured in several prominent woodturning publications.
