John Jordan, a resident of Nashville, Tennessee, is among the best known woodturners, tool makers, and woodturning instructors in the world. He was recently honored with a lifetime achievement award by the American Association of Woodturners. He is best known for his textured and carved hollow vessels. In his demonstration, John went through the design process, turning of the outside of the bowl and subsequent hollowing using his specialized tools (which he fabricates himself). In the hands-on session, club members had a chance to try his hollowing tools, with mixed success to say the least. Several club members acquired a set of his tools and we eagerly await their results.
